[idiom] I'm all ears, plat it by ear

1. I'm all ears

collins 사전: if someone says that they are all ears, they mean that they are ready and eager to listen.

=The floor's yours = You have the floor

A:I actually have an ulterior motive for coming here tonight. I need to ask you a favor.

B: I'm all ears => Well, shoot = Feel free to shoot me an email = Shoot me the address

2.play it by ear

캠브릿지 사전: to decide how to deal with a situation as it develops, rather than acting according to plans made earlier

It's too early to make that call. Let's just play it by ear

A:What are you gonna say?

B:I'll just play it by ear.

I don't wanna sound too over-rehearsed.(너무 짠것처럼 보이기 싫으니까)

3.on the nose

exact/precise, unimaginative

20 minute, on the nose!(20

A: So what did you think?

B: Honestly, a little on the nose, not my cup of tea(너무 뻔해서 내취향은 아니였어요)

It's not everyone's cup of tea

4.It caught me off guard.

to surprise someone, esp. in a way that makes the person feel confused or uncertain.

I honestly didn't see it coming.(그렇게 될줄 몰랐어)  <=> I saw that coming(그럴줄 알았어)

I should have seen this coming(이렇게 될거란걸 알았어야 했는데)

It caught me completely off guard
